Well I'm gonna be greedy and give two lists:)

this is the list of who I think are the ten biggest stars in pro wrestling law:

1: Hulk Hogan... not even a close call, and I'm not that big a fan
2: Austin... over Flair because he fu##ing changed the face of the industry
3; Flair... wooooooooo
4: The Rock... did it all and more in his 8yr stint and is the second biggest name outside of wrestling
5: The Undertaker.... he bores me to sleep, but I can't deny his status
6: Shawn Michaels.. the Heartbreak Kid... the original, first ever highflyer to win the big one!
7: Bret Hart.... the best "wrestler ever" period... the way he handled Montreal didn't help his status..
8: Sting:.. He's been on top since I can remember
9: Andre the Giant: I never really got him, but he is top ten worthy for sure!
10: Bill Goldberg.... he's been as over as Hogan, Austin and Warrior ever were... quite amazing really... 173-0 pretty much says it all

now for my personal top ten, favourite wrestlers

1: Austin
2: Orton
3: Goldberg
4: Rocky
5: Young Shawn
6: Razor Ramon
7: Bret Hart
8: Jake Roberts
9: Randy Savage
10: Jericho.... when he was a cocky little prick:)

Oh no....not another top 10 :( I'm sure I give different names each time.

The biggest stars I think Pocket has right on. It's quite hard to argue who would be better than who in that list as there are too many different factors to consider with each one. I also think people like Bob Backlund, Buddy Rogers and Bruno Sammartino should be on that list somewhere, in fact I think you could argue that Sammartino should maybe be joint top....and if we want to get really finicky about it......Antonio Inoki, The Great Muta, Giant Baba and Stan Hansen would be on anyone's list.

My favorites would be:

1. Gary Albright
2. Dynamite Kid
3. Bret Hart
4. Bam Bam Bigelow
5. Bob Backlund
6. Bruno Sammartino
7. Hulk Hogan
8. Owen Hart
9. Rick and Scott Steiner
10. Rick Rude.

.....in no order, and I could easily be swayed to give a totally different top 10.....it's that close

This isn't gonna turn into a HBK hating arena is it? I'm tired of that!

You can question his attitude all day long, I'll help you but to question his place in wrestling legend is pissing in the wind!

What exactly makes Shawn Michaels legend? Nothing in the ring makes him legend. The controversy surrounding him is what makes him "legend." Talk about a guy who was the main guy when WWF was about to be put out of business. HBK's run was during a transitional period in wrestling. He's insignficant in the two great eras of wrestling. He's popular but he's not even top 10 in terms of popularity. Not even top 15 in terms of in ring ability. Hell, HHH has had a better career. Edge will end with a better career. HBK is overrated, it's as simple as that.

One thing you can say is that he started in 1984 and, aside from 6 years, he's been in WWF/WWE almost all of that time. He's going to appear in a lot of peoples lists as he's been pushed down our throats for nearly 20 years......I can't stand him, but he's been in the top half of the card since 1991, hence, if only for nostalgia's sake, some people do consider him a legend.....and that's as nice as i'm going to be. Personally, his career makes me wonder more about the people that deserved real praise that the little sh## buried to Vince and never got where they should have.

Don't put words in Monkie's mouth. He said that some people consider HBK a legend. He didn't say HBK belonged on that list. HBK was nowhere near on Monkie's list. And just like Monkie, I was making a general reference.

If it was down to DESERVING to be a legend, HBK would never make anyone's list.....we are not talking about that. It would be impossible to dispute that the guy has been, by hook or crook, a significant part of WWE/WWF programming for just under 20 years. I don't see him as a legend, BUT.....I can understand why some people think he is. We could reel off names of people who were better for days......It's not about who was better, it's about people that defined era's....that's why i'm throwing out names like Backlund, Bruno Sammartino, Buddy Rogers, Hart, Hogan, etc. Each represents a period of history in wrestling.....whether they were good enough is irrelevant.

That was a biggest stars list. Star power is one of many requirements for top ten overall like he said in the part you highlighted. And if you read the next post, he said, some people consider HBK a legend, not that he did. Not that he doesn't, but he didn't say that in any post. Stop reaching.

That's a great assessment. What era do you think HBK defined?

The crap era where everybody who wasn't pals with HBK got screwed over......I wonder if HHH ever gets pissed off that he gets little or no credit for DX, despite being in it from the start and all the way through? I'd ask Bam Bam Bigelow, but he's dead and apparently they were not that tight after HBK got him drummed out of WWF.

Yes it was a biggest stars list and again I never called him a legend! do you even know why you're arguing? Miss quotes and manipulation of words is not exactly convincing..

....and as I said a few hours back.. I'm tired of this! you know its 03:02 here in the UK....

That's what I thought, the crap era. HHH was part of the original era and then help keep it relevant during the Attitude Era. It's just too bad that some other guys weren't willing to backstab, kiss ass, and ruin careers like HBK or they might have made these lists. HBK was always your friend...until he backstabbed you. Shame what happened with Bigelow. For someone who did just about anything in his career to reach the top and stay there, his overall accomplishments don't add up.

I'm not a HBK fan either( my Avatar gives you a clue why) but dude he's a legend despite what you THINK what happen in the locker room) here's why;
 -WWF's first triple crown winner
-highlighted some for the great Wrestlemania matches of all time VS Austin, Cena, and the classic Ironman match to name a few
- One of the most popular wrestlers in wrestling history..he's one of the few that is a household name like Hogan, Flair, Savage, and Austin
-Wrestled with 2 crushed disks in his back vs Steve Austin...he didn't have to do that. whether it was his ego or looking to honor his contract it doesn't matter...the fact that he did it shows heart
- Founder of one of the most popular factions of all-time DX
-In his prime I reluctantly admit that his matches where one of the bright spots in the pre-Attitude era. His high flying high risk style combined with a arrogant attitude made for a stunning character that you either loved more than life( like my brother does) or hated with a passion( like me..lol)
-Was involved in 3 first time matches in WWE history....Ladder match with Scott Hall, Ironman match with my main man Hart, and Hell in the Cell with the Undertaker
- Still extremely popular even after all these years and his matches vs Cena was some of the greatest in the last 5 years
I could go on and on but dude...face it...he's a legend. If he's not please tell me what defines a legend in your eyes. Your hatred and bias has clouded you objectiveness.

PS. Couple names I forget...Hansen, Vader, Muta, Sanmartino, Billy Graham, Vince McMahon( as a character yes he is a legend),Patterson, Dory Funk, Kerry von Erich, Jim Duggan, Goldust, Nikita Koloff, Blanchard, Kevin Sullivan, Benoit, Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Dibiase and Rick Rude :)
